We are looking for a Director Human Resources (m/w/d) - say hello to Hilton Munich Airport!

What will I be doing?

As a Director Human Resources you take a leading role of the senior management team and, together with the General Manager, drive excellence, satisfaction and consistency in all Human Resources related areas (Administration, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Learning and Development, Payroll).

Together with your Human Resources Team you are the main point of contact for providing first-class Human Resources services to the hotel to deliver an excellent staff experience. A Director Human Resources would also be required to manage succession planning and developing HR strategy. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Leading, guiding and developing the HR team
  • Provide and deliver first-class employee services to the hotel
  • Create, develop and implement HR strategy based on corporate guidelines and regional strategy
  • Write Payroll-, Human Resources and Trainings Budget in alignment with yearly hotel business plan
  • Regular Payroll reviews and continuous controlling of HR costs throughout the year
  • Manage succession planning with senior managers during the bi-annual appraisal process
  • Manage employee relations issues in the hotel in a confidential manner, including disciplinaries, grievances, and capability
  • Support department managers to ensure success of their teams
  • Ensure recruitment and selection process is adhered to and ensure that appropriate immigration checks are carried out
  • Support the hotel with departmental training requirements
  • Ensure completion of management reports for head office and region
  • Control costs and assist in meeting hotel/departmental financial targets
  • Ensure pay reviews/absence monitoring/wage queries are managed in line with company guidelines
  • Ensure completion of training for hotel security, fire regulations and other health and safety legislation
  • Work with local organizations and schools to promote the hospitality industry
  • Assist and resolve team member and management queries

What are we looking for?

As Director Human Resources at Hilton Munich Airport you are always working on behalf of our Team Members, Managers and, ultimately, Guests. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Previous HR managerial experience (as Human Resources Manager or in equivalent leading role) for at least 2 years
  • Strong expertise in HR matters such as budgeting, forecasting, talent development, succession planning, recruiting and employee relations
  • Seniority, managerial talent and absolute passion for people
  • Resiliance and assertiveness
  • Hands-on HR passionate
  • Positive and caring attitude with ability to communicate equally with various team member levels (ranging from interns and apprentices to Senior Management and Owners)
  • Able to make sound but quick decisions and keep up with the pace of a fast-developing company
  • Transparent, honest and open way of communication and leadership style
  • Very good communication and people skills, high empathy and sensitivity
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service, both internally and externally
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Knowledge of German Legislation, especially German labour law (ideally hospitality labour law)
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to produce excellent results whilst working under pressure
  • Ability to work on their own as well as being a good teamplayer that appreciates all other team members and their strenghts and development areas
